The same pattern, again
After 21 comes 22, then 23. After 31 comes 32, then 33. The ending is always the same.
This chart has ten in every row. That is why the pattern lines up.
Why the pattern repeats
There are only ten digits. When the ones run out, the only way onward is one more ten and start the ones again.
The joins are the hard part
29 to 30, 39 to 40. Both digits change at once. Everywhere else, only the ones move.
