Flat faces
The flat parts of a solid are called faces. A cube has 6 faces.
Does it roll?
A sphere rolls. A cube does not. Flat faces stop a shape from rolling.
Solids are built from flat shapes
Every face of a cube is a square. The flat shapes you know are the parts that solids are made of.
Roll it or stack it
Curved surfaces roll. Flat faces stack. A cylinder does both, because it has some of each.
