Why these are harder
You cannot hold up eight fingers on one hand. Past five you have to remember the words instead of seeing them.
Keep track
Move each thing as you count it. Slide it across into a done pile.
Why moving them works
Now you can see which ones are finished. You cannot count one twice, because it is already in the other pile.
Bigger groups, more mistakes
With three things you never lose your place. With eight you might. That is why the moving trick matters now and not before.
