Why a jumble is hard
In a line, the ones behind you are done. In a jumble they are mixed in with the ones you have not touched.
Have a plan
Start at one side. Always go the same way — left to right, or round in a circle.
Better still, move them
Slide each one away as you count it. Then the pile that is left is exactly the ones you still need.
Or line them up first
Put them in a row before you start. Counting a row is easy, and making the row does not change how many there are.
