A, V, W and X are all made of the same leaning stroke repeated, so they share a movement in the way the straight letters do.
W is four strokes here rather than one zigzag. A zigzag hides where the turns are, and a child copying it as a single scribble will not be able to reproduce the shape without the model in front of them.
If A is difficult, do V first and then turn the page. Seeing that they are the same two lines is worth more than another attempt at A.
