More and fewer
More means the bigger group. Fewer means the smaller one. The same means neither has any left over.
Long does not mean more
A row can be spread out and still have fewer things. Spreading them out adds space, not objects.
So match them, do not look
Line them up one to one. Then the spreading out cannot trick you.
