Signing in

At the top right of every page there is a white Sign in button, in the blue bar. It opens the sign-in screen.

The screen is headed Sign in. It has a box for your email and password, and under that, Continue with Google.

If you have a Gmail address, you already have a Google account, and you can use it here. You will not be typing a password into Cogito — Google asks you, not us.

1. Tap Sign in at the top right.
2. Tap Continue with Google.
3. A Google screen appears. If you are already signed in to Google on this device, it will simply show your name — tap it.
4. If it asks for your email address and password, that is Google asking, on Google’s own page. Type them there as you normally would.
5. Google asks whether you are happy to let Cogito see your name and email address. Say yes.
6. You come back to your Cogito account page, signed in. That is it.

If you would rather not use Google, you can make an account with any email address and a password of your choosing.

1. On the sign-in screen, tap Create an account under the Google button.
2. Type your name, your email address and a password of at least 8 characters, then tap Create an account.
3. We send you an email. Open it and confirm the address, then come back and sign in with the same email and password.

Look at the top right of the blue bar. Where it said Sign in it now shows your first name. Tap it to open a short menu: Your account, Add or edit learners, Family progress, the reading and code settings, the guide, and Sign out at the bottom.

Once you add your children, the name also shows who is learning, such as Priya · Ravi. On a phone there is only room for the child’s name.

1. Add each child by first name. More than one child shows how; it is worth doing even if you have only one.
2. When you add a child, Cogito offers a short test to find where they should start. You can take it then, or later.

Signing in opens every chapter of every course, in math, reading and science, until 31 December 2026. Your account page says so at the top.

1. No card is asked for, at any point.
2. There is nothing to cancel at the end.

Membership explains what stays open after that.

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot your password? and type your email address. You will be sent an email with a link to set a new one. If you signed in with Google there is no Cogito password to forget — just use Continue with Google again.

Tap your name at the top right, then Sign out at the bottom of the menu. There is also a Sign out button on your account page. Your progress is kept and will be there when you sign back in.
